regimes

The problems in Iran, on the surface, are the result of a disputed election, but when you dig a little deeper the real difficulty, at its core, is a conflict of beliefs. To change regimes then, there must be a change of ideas. If protests on the street are to be truly effective, a different kind of campaign must be launched. Violence will only make the situation worse, allowing the current regime to find justification for their own violent crackdowns. How can one go about changing a regime then, if violence is constantly used as a threat to thwart public acts of defiance? The only way to effectively fight the current regime is to uncover the ideas and beliefs that are at the root of the problem and attack them at that level.
